In 2022, IT will have progressed significantly. We will have more powerful and sophisticated devices, as well as better software. This will enable us to do more with less effort. 5G Networks

5G networks will have speeds that are much faster than our current 4G network and will allow for the transfer of much more data to be sent at once. For example, uploading a high-quality video will take just seconds instead of minutes or even hours because 5G networks will have speeds that are 50-100x faster than 4G.

5G technology is also projected to be reliable enough that what you see in the video below will not be far off from how communications work on 5G networks.

Blockchain

The blockchain is simply a ledger or record of transactions, shared among many different parties and constantly kept up to date by everyone involved. It’s kind of like an Excel spreadsheet has been continuously edited and copied by everyone.

Blockchain technology is finding more uses every day, with its most prominent use being for cryptocurrencies, but it can be used in many other ways. The blockchain has the potential to change the way industries are run, specifically banking and finance.

For example, instead of having an intermediary like a bank validate transactions for thousands of people at once (which can take days), banks will be capable of sharing this task on the blockchain among all of their clients. Messages about purchases or transfers could also be securely sent across borders; credit card information would no longer need to be exposed while travelling internationally. There’s even speculation that blockchain technology can be used in self-driving cars!

Chatbots

Chatbots are computer programs designed to simulate conversation with human users, especially over the Internet. They are often used for providing specific types of information based on keywords in user queries.

3D Printers

3D printers create physical objects from digital models by laying down thin layers of material until an object is formed, which can then be used or replicated to make products quickly and cheaply. There are even 3D printers that deposit bio-ink onto a bed of gel in order to print living tissue! This could lead to faster drug research and advancement in cell biology.

Virtual Reality (VR)

Virtual reality makes it possible for people to experience things remotely via an immersive artificial environment or virtual world like Second Life through visual, auditory, and other sensory channels including touch.

Nanobots

Nanobots are nanoscale autonomous robots that interact with biological components of the body, which can diagnose illnesses and repair damage. This includes repairing DNA if it has been damaged by radiation or cancer cells! Now, this is pretty far out there but given enough time who knows what will happen?

Quantum Computers

Quantum computing harnesses the power of atoms to process information exponentially faster than current technology is capable of. By using quantum entanglement, superposition, and interference, they are able to do this by overcoming one major obstacle that plagues normal computing: interference. While classical computers must calculate all possibilities one by one in a sequential manner, quantum computers are able to look at every possible outcome simultaneously. This means that data that would normally take thousands of years to solve could be theoretically computed in hours.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence is defined as “the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs” or a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. For example, being able to learn from previous mistakes through trial-and-error!

For example, this could enable us to cure all diseases and also see completely new abilities as well as change our physical appearance.

Maybe even create an entirely new human species with different features! Inventions have been made by applying genetic engineering techniques, such as genetically modified food which has led to the production of genetically engineered crops, biopharmaceutical drugs, and more. We’re also seeing the treatment of diseases accomplished by introducing a gene into a patient’s cells, such as treatment for hemophilia by inserting a gene for the missing blood-clotting factor, or treatment for genetic defects in mitochondria.

We’re already seeing these things happen with medical implants today but we’ll see them become more mainstream in the future.

We might also see humans upload their minds onto computers perhaps using some form of artificial intelligence (AI). Once we reach the point where we can conquer aging and death, that will have a major impact on society as we know it!

Biohacking

Biohacking is a 22] Movement consisting of a group of people who seek to alter their own biology by using available human, plant, and animal biotechnologies. For example, some use dietary supplements known as nootropics to “improve mental capacity”, and others experiment with genetic modification. This could become very important in the near future as humanity progresses forward!

Driverless Cars

Driverless cars are vehicles that can navigate without human input or control. The car senses its environment and navigates the landscape based upon sophisticated algorithms generating complex, fast-paced mathematical models which make sense from all of the various sensor data picked up. This could have an effect on car ownership, traffic congestion, the insurance industry, public transportation, and really society as a whole.
